OLYMPIC BASEBALL, SOFTBALL TO RETURN IN 2020 AS PART OF NEW SPORTS PACKAGE
The World Baseball Softball Confederation today welcomed the decision of the IOC Session to approve adding baseball and softball to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Japan defeated New Zealand, 2-1, in an electric finale to win the 11th WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship in Midland, MI, USA, Saturday.

CANADA AND NEW ZEALAND TO MEET IN BRONZE MEDAL GAME; JAPAN ADVANCES TO GOLD MEDAL GAME AT 2016 JR. MEN'S SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Canada and New Zealand will meet tomorrow, 30 July, in the bronze medal match of the 2016 WBSC Jr Men’s Softball World Championship. The winner will then face Japan in the world championship gold medal game, whereas the loser will be awarded the bronze.

EIGHT NATIONS ADVANCE TO PLAYOFFS AT 2016 JR. MEN'S SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Following the four-day round robin stage in the under-19 men’s softball flagship event, eight nations (the top four nations from each pool) have advanced into a Double-Page Playoff beginning tomorrow to determine the 2016 Junior Men’s Softball World Champion.

WORLD NO. 2 USA DEFEATS TOP RANKED JAPAN TO WIN 2016 WOMEN'S SOFTBALL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
The United States defeated Japan, 7-3, Sunday in the finale of the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship in Surrey, Canada. The U.S. “Eagles” regain the world crown for the first time since 2010, following back-to-back world titles by Japan in 2012 and 2014.
